27 Feb Year 5 Tune Into Technology with Conductive Music!
Year 5 recently enjoyed an immersive “Micro: Melodies” workshop led by Conductive Music, blending music, science, and coding. This award-winning STEAM session turned the classroom into a digital studio where pupils used BBC Micro:bits to compose their own music.
Using block-based coding, the children programmed rhythms to create original tunes. The innovation didn’t stop there; by using the BBC Make Code site, the children were able to create simple 8-bit style arcade games.
The workshop perfectly bridged the curriculum, linking Computing skills like debugging with Science and Music. It was fantastic to see our pupils develop their problem-solving skills while exploring the future of music technology.
