The Winns Primary is a three form entry school with a nursery. Admissions in to Reception – Year 6 are  governed by Waltham Forest admission procedures.

We welcome prospective parents/carers to visit our school. We hold school tours regularly so you can see what life at The Winns is like and our children very much enjoy meeting visitors and sharing their achievements.

Reception Admissions

Reception 2023

If your child was born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019, they are due to start primary school in September 2023. Applications are now closed and parents have been notified of the outcome. Any parents requiring a Reception place should contact the Waltham Forest Admissions Department.

Reception 2024

If your child was born between 01/09/2019 – 31/08/2020 they will start in Reception class in September 2024.

We are excited to announce our Reception 2024 tours are now available to book via Eventbrite. Please click here to secure your place on the tour.

You can apply for your child’s school place online from the 1st of September 2023 until 15th January 2024, please click here.

Nursery children are allocated either part-time (15 hours) or full-time (30 hours) spaces. All children who are aged 3 and 4 years old receive 15 hours free child care. Children with working parents may be entitled to 30 hours of free childcare. To check if you are eligible for the 30 free hours childcare and to apply, please go to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. Here, you will find information about the different types of services and support available to parents.

Our Nursery can also offer Top Up Sessions for those wanting more hours and are not eligible for 30 hour funding.

Visiting us!

If you would like to visit our Nursery we will be holding tours for prospective parents. The tours will give you an opportunity to visit our Early Years setting. The tours will begin at 9.30 and should be no longer than 45 minutes, please feel free to bring your child with you. To arrange a visit, please visit Eventbrite The Winns Nursery.

Nursery Intake September 2023

Please note – Our nursery is currently full and all places for the September intake have been allocated. If you would like to be added to our wait list please complete the form above.

Applications for further intakes are also welcomed.

Nursery Intake September 2024

Nursery places will be assigned by October half term and parents will be contacted if their child has been allocated by the end of the Autumn term.

Applications will be continued to be welcomed and will be added to our wait list. The next intake will be September 2025.

In-Year Admissions

From time to time, we also have vacancies in other year groups. To apply for a place for one of our Years 1 to 6 classes, parents please visit the Waltham Forest In-Year Admissions page.
