06 Mar World Book Day Celebrations
Yesterday we had a fantastic celebration of World Book Day at The Winns. The school was full of colour and creativity as both children and staff arrived dressed as their favourite book characters. From classic heroes to modern favourites, the costumes were brilliant, and there was a real buzz around the school as everyone tried to guess which characters had come to life. Most importantly, the day sparked lots of wonderful conversations about books, stories and the joy of reading. Across the week, children have taken part in storytelling sessions, joined in creative online workshops and even visited a local library.
The celebrations also coincided with the arrival of our Travelling Book Fair, which is now open in the library and will remain with us until next Tuesday. Last year the fair raised an incredible £2,500 for new library books, so we hope families will pop in and support it again this year.
We are also excited to begin creating some new characters for The Winns Story Trail, helping to bring even more stories to life around our school grounds.
