09 Oct Spotlight on Learning: Storytelling in Reception
Reception welcomed CJ Storyteller this week for a storytelling session full of imagination. CJ brings traditional tales to life with a twist, and their visits are always a firm favourite with the children!
Storytelling is a wonderful way to develop spoken language in the early years. Sharing stories gives children opportunities to listen carefully, discover new vocabulary and talk about characters and events. These interactions help build their confidence in expressing ideas and responding to others – important foundations for learning across the curriculum.
We look forward to welcoming CJ back in March for a full day of storytelling across the school to celebrate World Book Day.
