20 Sep Cycle Training
This week, Year 6 students have been enjoying fantastic cycling sessions provided by Waltham Forest Council. The council’s cycling initiative aims to promote safe, confident, and responsible cycling, and we are thrilled that both our students and staff have had the opportunity to take part.
The council has generously provided bikes and helmets for any students who did not have their own, ensuring that everyone can participate. The training focuses on road safety, cycling skills, and increasing confidence on two wheels—important life skills for any cyclist!
This week, 6PB had their turn and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. The children learned how to properly check their bikes before a ride, improve their balance, and master the art of signalling to other road users. Many students commented on how much more confident they feel cycling, whether it be on roads or bike paths.
Next week, it will be 6ES’s turn to take part, and we can’t wait to see more children developing their cycling skills!
We would like to extend our thanks to Waltham Forest Council for their commitment to helping our pupils become safer cyclists and to everyone involved in making this week a success.
Happy cycling!
