09 Jul Creativity Weeks: Our Whole-School Art Exhibition
Our recent Creativity Weeks culminated in a spectacular school-wide exhibition exploring the powerful theme of belonging, one of our core school values.
In Early Years, Nursery children looked at Kandinsky’s circles to express feelings of safety, while Reception used Romare Bearden-inspired collages to depict the comfort of home.
Moving into Key Stage 1, Year 1 brought our school playground to life through sensory descriptive poetry. Year 2 explored the magic of books, crafting poetry and miniature books using blow art, inspired by Oliver Jeffers.
In Key Stage 2, Year 3 focused their creative energy on celebrating their local neighbourhood. Meanwhile, Year 4 celebrated cultural diversity with multimedia self-portraits inspired by Frida Kahlo and personal heritage poems. Year 5 presented a collaborative exhibition, We Belong to The Earth. Their stunning animal portraits, skyscapes, and ocean scenes blended poetry with artistic styles ranging from William Morris to Yayoi Kusama. Finally, Year 6 took inspiration from Hilma af Klint, using abstract art and symbols to connect their shared human experiences.
Thank you to everyone who visited and celebrated our pupils’ wonderful artistic journeys!
