Our Upper Key Stage 2 students were treated to a captivating morning today as we welcomed acclaimed author Janeen Hayat to The Winns.
Janeen shared the fascinating story of her journey to becoming a writer, proving to the children that every great book begins with a single, simple idea and the courage to put pen to paper. She spoke candidly about the challenges she faced and the perseverance required to see her stories in print, which resonated deeply with our aspiring young authors.
The highlight of the session was Janeen’s empowering message on heritage. She encouraged the children to look into their own family histories and cultural backgrounds for inspiration. By reflecting on their unique identities, she explained, they can find authentic voices that make their writing truly stand out.
